PUBLIC SERV-CE SS27 THE REST IS NOISE | NYFW
When everything is competing for attention, clarity becomes an act of resistance.
For Spring/Summer 2027, PUBLIC SERV-CE presents THE REST IS NOISE, a collection conceived in response to a world saturated by information, images, opinions and constant transmissions.
Presented at ARTE MUSEUM New York, the collection enters the noise rather than escaping it, proposing a wardrobe for a new collective: individuals connected by a shared visual language without surrendering their identity.
Empowering clothing, emotional workwear, tailored sportswear and cultural uniforms are dismantled and reconstructed through engineered volumes, unexpected proportions, luxurious fabrications and functional detailing. White dominates but nothing is pristine. Washed and distressed surfaces are interrupted by pink nudes, signal red, ice blue, cracked graphics and coded markings.
For SS27, PUBLIC SERV-CE enters into dialogue with Zaha Hadid Design, bringing its approach to form and architecture into the collection through eyewear and jewelry. The pieces become interruptions within the silhouette, somewhere between ornament, object and architecture.
Music forms another part of the collection. JNR CHOI serves as Music Director and Executive Producer of an original six-track EP conceived as the soundtrack to THE REST IS NOISE. The collection and the EP inhabit the same world, one expressed through garment, fabric and silhouette, the other through words, beats and sonic emotion.
SS27 also marks a return to footwear for founder and Creative Director Raphael Young, revisiting the Spartan sandal through traditional French shoemaking in Romans-sur-Isère, his hometown and the historic centre of French footwear production.
